In a unexpected partnership that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the authorized release, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of forbidden rituals and terrifying transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.

The mission focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Additional Material

Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana together with numerous items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This patch also adds the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement."
